Ferme Auberge l'Ille Sauvage sur Bouin

Nothing has changed in years: poor bedding, sheets with cigarette burns, dirty sink, hair shower, mop under the sink, very mediocre breakfast—two tiny pieces of butter, half a glass of orange juice, one coffee just for two. The setting is nice, but the atmosphere is very distant. I do not recommend this place, and it is expensive. M.F.G.

We're campervan travelers, and we found this place very authentic, with local charm. We received a very warm welcome and had dinner in a lovely little inn, with homemade products and good value for money for regional cuisine. I highly recommend this establishment.

A very welcoming farm campsite. The pitch is rustic, near a willow grove, but perfectly adequate for an overnight stay. Toilets and showers are very clean and conveniently located nearby. The meals offered are excellent. Highly recommended.

We stopped at the farm inn during our trip on the Velodyssée. Initially planning to camp in our tent, we ended up booking a room because of the heatwave with our son. Arrival was convenient; we were able to have our picnic outside at midday and get our room keys immediately. The evening meal was delicious and the welcome was warm. The location is beautiful, nestled in the marshes. The room was clean. We had one of our best nights' sleep! The place is calm and peaceful.

Excellent farm dinner experience: the meal was local (and organic), and the couple who hosted us were so lovely, open, and helpful. A wonderful encounter in a place you have to seek out and be willing to venture off the beaten path to. We also had a great time with Tobi the frog and discovering their long-horned cattle (all of which is optional, of course).

Beautiful, typical farmhouse with pleasant people to chat with and ideal campervan pitches for a peaceful night's sleep.

When I leave France after bikepacking for three months what will I remember most? It'll be the conversations I had with interesting people in interesting places. I will remember the farmers who farmed this farm for thirty years, who personally cooked and served us dinner in their farmhouse and told us their story. It will not be the the many campgrounds that, after awhile, all morph into each other in my memory because they are so simillar I can't distinguish one from the other. If you want a rare and authentic marshland farm experience, I recommend this place to you. If you want something corporate and polished I don't recommend it.

Inn on our Velodyssee route: we camped in the field, it was peaceful, the facilities were working for a shower and a quick wash, and then we were off again. The two owners and Tobby the dog were incredibly welcoming. Highly recommended! ☀️
