Fine Gueule sur Nice

We obviously had high expectations when this restaurant received both a Michelin star and high ratings from previous visitors. Reception and service were professional and cheerful. There it is a 4a. What drags it down is above all the food and the environment. The specialty of the day/week was, among other things, white asparagus with egg, lemon and balsamic vinegar. Which sounded exciting, but unfortunately the balsamic took over completely and we don't understand what the scrambled eggs did there at all (gave a breakfast feeling) When you eat white asparagus, you want it to taste like white asparagus. The second starter was also very unbalanced. The parmigiano cheese was dominant in the dish so the artichoke disappeared completely, it became more like a filling. The risotto with green asparagus and bottarga was also unbalanced. The risotto was overcooked and watery, and the bottarga that was laid very generously on top gave a much too high saltiness. However, the green asparagus was perfectly cooked. The duck was the one that saved the meal here today. Perfect duck with a fantastic yellow mash of carrots and ginger. Our location in front of the kitchen was a warm place to sit and eat in front of (when we asked for a change, this was not possible) The sofa against the wall is covered in plush, which gives extra warmth to the body and that it lacked a backrest and if you are a little short, they were a strange sitting position in these. Sad when you want to sit relaxed during a meal. We finished with espresso, which was good, we refused dessert as we were disappointed with the food, the kitchen heat and the seating position at the table. We mentioned the food but the waiter just said he would mention this to the chef. No compensation, didn't even offer the coffee. We are of course very disappointed. Unbalanced flavors and you don't serve a risotto like porridge at a Michelin restaurant. The restaurant has obviously been good but today it was really not up to par.

The Wiskey-based cocktail is a real killer, the dishes are very careful with fresh seasonal ingredients, the menu is regularly changed and the desserts are copious.

Very nice discovery unearthed via the web and we were not mistaken. Uncompromising local cuisine with an explosion of flavors in each dish. The artichoke salad is to die for and a special mention for the French toast which has found all its virtues here. A warm welcome and excellent service crown this address for epicureans.

Great tasting food from friendly staff in an upmarket setting.

We had already had very good experiences in this restaurant but last night's was mixed. The starters and desserts were delicious. On the other hand, the service was not very good and the prime rib (the most on the menu) was far from tender and lacked taste. I don't know if we'll come back to that.

the weekday lunch formula has excellent value for money! the products are fresh and the cooking is homemade.
