Top notch food and service…great.. There were 8 of us for a birthday, next to a table of 30 screaming people, without any feeling of embarrassment... we couldn't hear each other speak... Too bad this room was not privatized for them..

The parking lot is large, the restaurant is charming (old farm building) the interior is pleasant with comfortable and neat furniture, the warm welcome, the very professional service, the refined cuisine very well presented, the menu offers three choices of the starter to the dessert... Very nice address to recommend 🤗

Lunch during the week (open Monday), just a few minutes from Nevers, La Fontaine Cavalier offers you a menu with choice, selected quality products at excellent value for money. You are, almost, on gourmet... In short, thank you for this impeccable and very professional service, for this cuisine so tasty and original. The setting is TOP (shaded terrace) and dogs are accepted. Of course I recommend, impossible to be disappointed, almost surprised by the budget which seems to fall short of the service offered. BRAVO and THANK YOU

Very welcoming place. A large car park allows you to park without difficulty. We were a table of around thirty people, the service was perfectly orchestrated by a professional and smiling team, even offering shawls to those who were cold since the dinner took place outside. The decoration of the place is very pleasant, discreet and tasteful. The table layout was designed so that everyone could see each other and chat. Obviously the cleanliness of the premises is there. In terms of dishes, quality and quantity are there with volumes allowing you not to “stall” during the meal. The food is quality, cocktails and appetizers offered by the house. The price-performance ratio is completely adequate. It’s a place that I recommend without hesitation and deserves a 20/20.

Menu unique le dimanche avec toutefois la possibilité de choisir entre 3 entrées, 3 plats et 3 desserts. Assiettes bien présentées et généreuses. Respect des produits. Belle cuisson des poissons. Service rapide et très correct par un personnel jeune et dynamique. Belle carte des vins.

on a connu la nievre avec quelques etoilés prestigieux il y bien des années aujourd'"hui il ne reste que la fontaine cavalier pour sauver l'honneur de la gastronomie nivernaise : l'endroit est magnifique avec des terrasses magiques . un service adorable et très efficace ... une super organisation entra la cuisine et la salle un chef qui est un grand grand professionnel qui sort du fait maison d'une très grande qualité avec des produits de premier ordre (dernier repas : homard et turbot pour 39 euros -menu du week-end- loin devant certaines offres dites gastronomiques de la région plus onereuses) entre la nievre , le cher et l'allier il n'y a que la fontaine cavalier et la maison medard qui font de la vraie gastronomie et qui donnent du plaisir à manger et non pas simplement l'impression de juste se nourrir
