Mama Shelter Marseille Restaurant

15/06/2026: Great choice to stay for a few days in a cool and lively neighbourhood of Marseille, at walking distance to the Cours Julien. The price is very fair and the room accordingly rather basic (depending on the category one books of course). In general it was quiet in the room, but it can get quite loud when there are events on the hotel ground floor (even up until the 5th floor). Staff was always nice and helpful, just one day our room was not made up despite our request (via a sign left on the doorknob in the morning). Breakfast buffet (for 21€) was rich and had a good vegetarian selection, and there was even the option to have a lighter version for just 10€.

Bar de la Marine

28/05/2026: Oddly enough, I'm surprised by the rating. We had lunch and dinner at this bar and I can say that the aioli is divine, and tonight the prawn and chicken tapas were a real treat. The waiters were perfect at both lunch and dinner.
18/05/2026: Excellent restaurant! My friends and I came as a group of four, and all the dishes were delicious and the service was perfect. Plus, the view of the port of Marseille is superb. I will definitely return for lunch.
