Absolutely impressive, and not just architecturally. Unfortunately, one day isn't enough to properly view all the exhibits. It's a shame we didn't even have time for that this time.
One more reason to come back again.

If you're planning a visit to the Centre Pompidou or going for a specific exhibition, don't wait any longer! The Centre will be closed from October 2025 until 2030! You don't have much time left...
What's so great about the Centre Pompidou, besides being an unparalleled source of inspiration in many fields like architecture and sneaker culture, is that admission is free, and most exhibitions are also free to visit during specific hours. And let's not forget the incredibly well-stocked library.

I mainly come for the terrace on the 6th floor. The 360° view of Paris is free with the ticket, and it's breathtaking. Beaubourg, Notre-Dame, the Eiffel Tower... Perfect at sunset. The modern art collections are a bonus. However, be prepared to queue for the outdoor elevator-tube.

It's impossible to miss the Centre Pompidou... but few visitors know its story.
Before its famous colored pipes, an old working-class neighborhood stretched across this site, replaced in the 1970s by a vast empty lot.
Even more surprising, a medieval stream, the Ménilmontant, still flows beneath the plaza, unseen. Long nicknamed "the factory" or "Our Lady of the Pipes," this revolutionary building has become one of Paris's iconic landmarks.
All its technical aspects are on display outside to free up the interior.
Looking up, you discover much more than a museum: an architectural revolution built on the traces of a vanished Paris.
A wonderful opportunity to discover the other side of its history.

The Centre Pompidou is a fascinating museum of modern art with a very diverse collection. Its unique architecture is a major draw in itself. Inside, you'll discover numerous works ranging from classic modern art to contemporary art. A must-see for art lovers.
