Nestled in the small village of Authon, this guesthouse has everything to please... Peace and quiet, nature, very friendly hosts, and excellent cooks. The rooms and dormitory are very comfortable, with superb bedding. Incredible hikes are also nearby. We highly recommend this little haven of peace. We'll be back.

Dinner with friends in the evening: very pleasant and cool location by the stream, very tasty and generous evening menu (starter, main course, dessert), top-notch welcome and service! Excellent value for money.

A very friendly and helpful welcome. Plenty of games and activities on site for children, as well as a stream right next door. IGN maps, books, and magazines are available. Breakfast is perfect for hikers or athletes (cereals), and dinners are very good. Quiet and very well located for hiking in the Massif des Monges.

Fantastic welcome, very attentive, delicious meals and picnics (sandwiches at lunchtime at the summit of Les Monges and we thoroughly enjoyed the tabbouleh in the evening at the Cabane de Chine :o), very comfortable room, breakfast available early in the morning – nothing but good things to say about this one-night stop (May 30, 2026) on the Art Refuge Tour. A magnificent gîte, ideally located. We were a group of 15 mountain bikers staying for two nights. A very warm welcome and excellent food. Clean, comfortable, and quiet rooms. Authon is nestled in the heart of the mountains, perfect for a relaxing getaway. I highly recommend this gîte.

A hiking club of 17 people stayed from May 9th to 12th, 2026. We appreciated the warm welcome from Mélanie and Bacher. The meals were excellent and delicious, both those eaten at the gîte and those prepared for our picnics. It's a shame the weather wasn't better to enjoy the outside of the gîte. The gîte's location is ideal for hiking the major sites of the Monges mountains. A fantastic stay.

02/08/2026: We had an absolutely wonderful stay. We were a group of 10 people and, from the moment we arrived, we felt right at home. The welcome was incredibly warm, the hosts were lovely, always available, and did everything they could to ensure we had a fantastic time. A huge thank you also for the activities offered! Caving and the via ferrata were absolute highlights. Our guide is truly passionate; he shares his love of the region with great humor and enthusiasm, which makes the experience even more memorable. As for the food, it was flawless: generous, hearty, and delicious. It was impossible to leave hungry! We leave with wonderful memories and will gladly return. I highly recommend it!
02/08/2026: Excellent service, the staff are lovely and incredibly helpful (thank you for the lasagna!). The caving was an amazing experience, thanks to Christophe, a fantastic and very kind guide. I highly recommend it for a complete escape!

13/09/2026: Incredible Franche-Comté cuisine, we ate very well indeed. And the service! The waitresses were lovely, always smiling and attentive. The chef was very friendly and welcoming. A wonderful discovery, we'll gladly return. And finally, a beautiful view that adds even more charm to the place. 😊
