Grand Cafe Moderne sur Saint-Jean-Du-Bruel

Lots of regrets for not having discovered this restaurant sooner. We were made very welcome, the food was excellent. A good price-performance ratio.

Very good discovery, the place is charming, the cuisine is top notch and the owner is very friendly. Good value for money for a menu at €23.50 (starter, main course, cheese, dessert,) choice of cheese at the table. Eating in a place like this I highly recommend it. Thank you.

Excellent cuisine, plentiful, the dishes were delicious, very pleasant terrace, impeccable service

We recently visited Calycian as a family and I want to say that our dining experience was very satisfying. The food, prepared by Muguette, was excellent: the sausages from the €23.50 menu, the omelette and the steak from the children's menu were all delicious. The fries, although frozen, were quite good quality. However, I would like to share a little anecdote which I hope will be taken as constructive criticism. When we arrived, after waiting 10 minutes for the cards, Muguette kindly asked us to wait a little longer with a “take their turn”. It didn't matter, and we waited quietly, with a smile. Our server, Gilles, began the service with some courtesy, but we quickly felt that his patience diminished with each new request. We felt like we were bothering him every time we spoke to him. At the end of the meal, the bill arrived with an amount of €78, which seemed incorrect to me for a menu, a main course, a dessert and two drinks. After redoing the calculation using the map displayed at the entrance, it turned out that there was an error of €8. Gilles checked, apologized and refunded me the difference. I understand that to err is human and that we all have our bad days. However, Gilles' attitude left us with a slightly bitter taste, which is a shame because the quality of the dishes really deserves the 5 stars. Perhaps Gilles would need a little meditation course to regain his zenitude. 😉 Despite this little mishap, I recommend the Calycian for the quality of its simple but effective cuisine. A little smile and a little more patience while serving would only make the experience even better. Thanks to Muguette for the delicious dishes, and I am sure that Gilles will be able to find humor again to welcome the next customers with more warmth.
