This restaurant deserves one or even two stars, it's so good! A very classy place with owners who aren't fussy or pretentious, but we felt like we were in another world during our meal for our first wedding anniversary, and it's a place we'll definitely return to enjoy the succulent dishes prepared by the chef and his team. A true delight for the taste buds! The wine pairing was greatly appreciated by my husband (I admit I had a small sip and it was truly perfect!). The manager's honesty regarding the question of the stars was much appreciated, and the young ladies who looked after us on June 13th (lunchtime) were lovely. 😀 Thank you for this wonderful experience!

Dinner with friends, we opted for the three-course meal (starter, main, dessert), it was refined and excellent. We will definitely return.

We went to "Hall Saint Lazare" on a Wednesday evening. We ordered the 7-course menu with wine pairings! We were frankly disappointed!!! The 7 courses included a "trou normand" (which isn't what we were looking for! A sorbet with a splash of alcohol isn't a dish). And what really set us off (given the description and the price! Even though it wasn't exactly cheap...) was the cheese plate (a plate with absolutely no effort put into it! Four slices of cheese, each about 2 millimeters thick, tasteless, even dry and rotten!). We expressed our disappointment at that point! The response was, "It's a tasting plate." Well, NO, it's part of the 7 courses, and frankly, we would have much preferred Comté, Chaussée aux Moines, Camembert, Babibel, or even Laughing Cow, to say the least, etc... than that!! It was a real joke compared to the other dishes!! And absolutely no attempt at pairing the food and wines!! 😔😔😔😔 No surprises, no effort, no risks! It was good, well-presented, but it's not the experience we're looking for (once a year)! However, it's a very good place if you want to eat very well without expecting anything more! If we had known that the seven courses included a palate cleanser and a "tasting" of old, tasteless cheese, we would have ordered the four courses! But if you're looking for something new, surprising, or a culinary orgasm, this isn't the place (at least, not right now).
