Last minute decision and a very good one. We had the BEST steak tartare and a delightful starter of mackerel and a perfect pudding. What a gorgeous place.

A truly excellent restaurant where everything is done to ensure a wonderful experience. The menu changes regularly, much to the delight of both diners and regulars. This establishment is in a league of its own, and the kitchen orchestra (though its work is understated) plays a masterful role in this performance.

What a pleasure to dine at this restaurant! The welcome, the service, the dishes, the wine list... Everything was perfect, absolutely flawless. We had a wonderful family dinner on Sunday, December 21st, and a huge thank you to our waitress who was impeccable and truly professional. I highly recommend Hercule Poireau.

24/01/2026: A wonderful restaurant in the heart of Périgueux. The welcome and service were very professional. The cuisine was sophisticated and refined. Kudos to the staff, both front and back of house. The ambiance and background music were pleasant. We had a lovely meal with two couples who enjoyed it immensely.
20/01/2026: To begin with, a wonderful welcome and excellent service. Words fail to describe the finesse and quality of the dishes served. Whether it's the set menu or an à la carte dish, there's no difference. We find this culinary magic in every single dish. Thank you.

12/11/2025: A small, cozy, and intimate establishment, a guarantee of delicious, homemade cuisine. Their French toast-style brioche with speculoos cream—oh my, what a delight! Meltingly soft, fluffy, comforting... to die for. Everything is prepared with care and precision. A true treat, both for the balance of flavors and the accuracy of the cooking. I had no idea parsnip purée could be so good. All this accompanied by efficient, discreet, and attentive service. A place I recommend without hesitation.
