Very good ramen. The broth was good, and the pork chashu was finely chopped and easy to pick up with chopsticks. However, I found the service a bit slow.

A Japanese restaurant named after the island located in northern Japan. This restaurant offers simple dishes at a reasonable price. I recommend this restaurant!

We ordered spicy green onion miso ramen, char siu rice bowl, gyoza, and fried rice. The gyoza were probably pre-cooked, as they came out immediately after ordering. They were Kintaro-style with a strong chive flavor. The spicy green onion miso ramen had a soup reminiscent of Showa-era miso ramen, with straight, thin noodles. The spicy green onions had a kimchi-like seasoning. While it's a bit lighter than modern trends, it hits the mark and is well above average. The toppings were char siu and seaweed. The char siu was the thinly sliced, fatty type often seen at Kintaro restaurants. The rice bowl was a little on the oily side, but it balanced well with the miso ramen today. The highlight of the day was the fried rice. The ingredients were diced char siu, shrimp, egg, and green onions. It had a slightly burnt oil aroma, and the seasoning was just right. It's a high-quality fried rice that would likely be popular in student or office districts. Also, the portion size was huge. Enough for four people to share at a drinking party. Overall, the prices were reasonable, considering the other menu items as well.
