Very nice place, good food, good value for money

An exceptional place, the abbey's structure has been beautifully preserved, making it a truly magical setting. Excellent service and a pleasant atmosphere. The dishes are refined and delicious, and the wine is also very good.

A clearly overrated place. The setting is certainly very pleasant, but unfortunately, that's where the positives end, because the food is simply not up to par. Like with restaurants with a sea view, if the food doesn't deliver, well, you won't be back. The house aperitif was mediocre, the tapenade uninteresting, served with stale, day-old bread and greasy biscuits. The foie gras terrine is simply best avoided: a single slice of bread accompanied by a piece of foie gras – full of veins (unbelievable for a local product) – and a pinch of salt, all for an extra €7 on top of the already expensive Saturday night menu. Because of the constant heat in the main room, the experience is very uncomfortable for those who tend to sweat easily. The butcher's cut? A small slice of flank steak – good, but nothing exceptional – accompanied by a sucrine lettuce leaf and a sauce, served either with five fries or with a potato and goat cheese gratin (which was delicious!): quite disappointing for a dish that was supposed to be generous. The chocolate mousse, on the other hand, was very good, perfectly chilled and executed. Although the ambiance of the former abbey setting is spectacular and the waitstaff pleasant (though they leave as soon as you complain about a dish, and cleared plates right behind our table), the large dining room is impersonal and the tasteless furniture is an eyesore. We were very disappointed with the main thing: the food. It's definitely not worth the price we paid, around €150 for three set menus and a glass of wine. This restaurant offers fairly classic cuisine, small portions, generally good (except for the foie gras), but not worth the price at all. You can find much better elsewhere for a far more reasonable price. We were really looking forward to coming, what a disappointment! I won't be eating here again, and I don't recommend it.

Great restaurant, local food cooked well and very good value. Only €36 for 3 courses. I had a fennel and dill cream chilled soup (nice starter) followed by the butchers steak of the day, perfectly cooked with bernaise sauce and goat cheese gratin. The service is friendly and speedy and they have a good selection of local Loire wines that are well priced. It was busy with locals and tourists which is a good sign.

A truly wonderful discovery! The daily specials are absolutely excellent, featuring seasonal ingredients and original, flavorful, and beautifully presented dishes. The service is top-notch, with a team of friendly and attentive servers and cooks. You can feel their genuine passion for what they do. And what's more, the prices are very reasonable considering the quality. All this in a beautiful and pleasant setting. I highly recommend this place! We will definitely be back. 👌🍽️
