Hôtel du Cloître Saint Louis sur Avignon

The hotel is interesting and with good location as everything in Avignon is very walkable. The one thing to criticise is the breakfast’s price, it is VERY expensive for what it is. I don’t like complaining in general, but the breakfast’s quality was bad and when we saw the price we were shocked!!! Otherwise the reception stuff were lovely and helpful!

Hotel in a historic location, furnished in a very modern and comfortable style.

Excellent welcome (young man with a slight sing-song accent). He showed us the historical resources of this place.

Having coffee on a Sunday morning in January, under the vaulted ceilings of a timeless cloister steeped in secrets. A hidden gem of Avignon, in every season. Thank you for the warm welcome and excellent service.

Good hotel in the heart of Avignon

A beautiful venue that truly comes alive during the vibrant atmosphere of the Avignon Festival. Be aware that there are very long corridors and many stairs, even though there is a small elevator.

I stayed at the hotel for a few nights with my father, including the night of the 31st. I made my reservation by phone because I couldn’t add dinner to my online booking, and I was assisted by Fatima, the same person who took care of us at check-in. She was extremely kind and attentive, and she also put together a small program of activities and restaurant recommendations in Avignon, as we had told her we weren’t sure what to do during our stay. This thoughtful attention was truly appreciated. The restaurant staff was also very friendly, especially a gentleman wearing glasses whose name I unfortunately forgot, but who guided us perfectly, as everything on the menu looked tempting. The room was beautiful, and the view over the courtyard was simply timeless. The hotel truly reflects Avignon itself: pretty, charming, and full of history. I had a real crush on the city, and the hotel played a big part in that experience. We will most certainly return to Avignon, and without a doubt, we will stay at this hotel again. Breakfast was excellent: fresh orange juice and a wide variety of options. If I had one small recommendation, it would perhaps be to slightly rethink the room décor. For a 4-star hotel, one might expect something a bit more sober and elegant, but this is truly the only minor point to mention.
