On the way to our holiday destination, we made a quick stop in Pouilly-en-Auxois. Home-cooked food, attentive service, excellent value for money – I don't understand the negative reviews.

While cycling along the Burgundy Canal, we had a very good night's sleep at this hotel. We were offered a garage to store our bikes overnight. The restaurant is very beautiful and the rooms comfortable.

We tried the restaurant but not the hotel. To be honest, we had read some reviews and were apprehensive about dinner, but we didn't have many other options on the road so we went anyway. When we arrived, we noticed that it was very busy and that the service might be slow as many people had stated. When we sat down at our table, we told the waitress that we were in a hurry and expected. She did everything she could throughout the evening to ensure the meal was quick with great kindness and a touch of humor. We were served express, the dishes were good and unpretentious. We ultimately had a good time and laughed a lot at the reviews on Google.

The restaurant menu is varied and well-stocked. The atmosphere is good, and the prices match the quality. I'm passing through and I'm thinking of coming back tonight. Open on Sunday evenings too.😀

On our tour bus we had a lunch booking today, in this beautifully kept Hotel- Restaurant in the little township. We had a menu already selected and were very pleased with the hospitality and decor. My partner and I chose the Poulet Gaston Gerard-Chicken, White wine, Cre’me Fraiche. Our other two friends on pur table ordered the same, also the Apple Pie and we did enjoy this dinner and dessert with so much love. Merci 🥰🥰 Highly recommended.

04/02/2026: We had a very good lunch (the beef bourguignon will remain a memorable dish), and after lunch the owner kindly suggested we go see the nearby Burgundy Canal and its vaulted tunnel. Which we did. It was a lovely little walk, and it's quite unusual to see a canal running underground for 3.3 km through the city. Thank you for pointing out this interesting feature; the canal is beautiful, too. If the opportunity arises, we will definitely return to this restaurant.
23/01/2026: Absolutely top-notch. Delicious, warm welcome, reasonable prices... not to be missed!
