Hotel Restaurant Carlina sur Macot-La-Plagne

We just spent a magical week at the Carlina, ideally located at the foot of the slopes. From the moment we arrived, the warm and professional welcome from the staff set the tone. The rooms are spacious, with impeccable bedding and unparalleled comfort, offering breathtaking views of the slopes and the mountains. The two restaurants—one a gourmet establishment with refined cuisine showcasing local products, and the other featuring Savoyard specialties—delighted us. The breakfast was extremely varied and generous. The service was impeccable, with staff always attentive, smiling, and readily available. And what can we say about the manager, Mr. Vito, who was always ready to ensure our stay was absolutely perfect? ​​Finally, there was the indoor pool, spa with jacuzzi, sauna, and hammam for relaxing after a day of skiing. In short, everything was perfect, and we will be back!

We had an incredible week at this establishment. Everything lived up to our expectations. The staff were incredibly attentive, the cuisine was refined, with a special mention for the pastry chef and Manon (restaurant).

We stayed in the apartments, Daphne to be specific. It was clean, tidy and well furnished when we arrived. Plenty of utensils etc to cook with (handy when 2 of your group know their way around a kitchen) The beds were large, really warm and comfortable - which was amazing compared to the other places I've stayed in the La Plagne area. Almost as good as my bed at home! The staff were absolutely amazing, spoke very good English compared to our lack of French. (3 of our group speak other languages, just not French). They are very friendly and professional. I was very happy as at least one member spoke Italian, so I could use that instead of English The food was great, cocktails were good and the service impeccable at every stage. Any questions or issues (we only had 1 minor issue) was dealt with swiftly and effectively. The slope to ski in-out did get busy at times and therefore quite 'rough', so for a beginner it might be a little awkward getting back in later in the day. That's not a hotel issue, just an observation. It's a good run down to the hub at Bellecote and from there, it's a lovely run from the Arpette lift, via Arpette and Laines runs to the hotel again. Very pretty views. The bar area with the open fire was lovely and relaxing, plenty of seating outside for lunches & drinks and crepes on hand if you want one. Only a couple of cons Showers were a little weak in pressure. Personally, I found the pillows uncomfortable. It's more personal preference though. I couldn't stay any longer :) - not really a 'con'... I can't comment on the pool, spa or other facilities as I didn't use them. Little recommendation. I'd definitely light up the Hotel Carlina sign facing the road - it's hard to see in the dark and our taxi driver nearly missed it at 6:30am on pick up day. It was still pitch black outside at that time.

Our new favourite lunch spot in Belle Plagne, very friendly and attentive staff, a great menu and the perfect spot for any sized group. Thanks for taking care of our group, Stefano - our lunch was a real highlight of the week.

We have stayed at this hotel for the last 2 years. This hotel is perfect for ski in and out will fantastic access to the many slopes. We were half board and the food was excellent fantastic choice and great quality. The hotel bar is cosy and inviting. The staff in every area of the hotel are brilliant and cannot do enough for the guests they are friendly and considerate. The hotel spa was a lovely option after a day on the slopes. My only criticism would be the Karioke evening in the bar on Thursdays - in my opinion not in keeping with the atmosphere and ambiance of the hotel

Hotel Carlina is absolutely fabulous. Apart from being very comfortable with stunning facilities and views, the staff are ALL terrific. Lovely manners and great friendship all with a smile.
