It's a place that's truly authentic. The owner has been at the helm for over 50 years. The menu features dishes made primarily with local ingredients. A pleasant location, undisturbed by the trains, which are expected to resume normal service at the end of the year.
A charming little spot, tucked away and seemingly untouched by time... this old hotel-restaurant, facing the now-deserted Barrême train station, used to welcome, according to 82-year-old owner Marie-Jo, many passersby and truck drivers... but as time went by, it became less frequent, and yet the authenticity of this old place makes it well worth a stop for simple, home-style cooking. This lunchtime, the menu included local charcuterie and homemade tabbouleh as a starter, tender steak with rice and homemade ratatouille, a cheese plate, and homemade flan. Simple and satisfying, just as these old walls suggest...
