Hotel Restaurant La Tour du Vieux Port sur Libourne

My wife and I spent a couple of days at this hotel in June, 2026. The room we stayed in was in a building back of the main tower. It was a fairly large room with a great shower and bathroom, fairly large twin beds, and had a TV where I could watch a few World Cup matches. It was very quiet at night, and had air conditioning if needed (we turned it on once or twice during the afternoon). The outside of the hotel is charming, and incorporates part of the old city wall. The breakfasts were first rate, and I liked the fact that they had an electric orange juice squeezer so that I could have a glass of fresh OJ each morning along with my two double espressos. It's a bit sad these days that all the hotels use espresso machines rather than make it the old fashion way with real espresso makers, but alas, progress marches on! The location is near the confluence of the Isle and Dordogne rivers, and an easy walk to various river cruises of so desired. It is also a short walk into the city square where there are several restaurants and a well-stocked supermarket. I would definitely stay here again!

I booked a room with a balcony and the view of the river is very nice, as is the location. The hotel is clean and the staff are lovely.
