Top notch restaurant Hotel seriously understaffed!

Superb castle in the middle of the vineyards. Absolute calm. Very comfortable rooms. Excellent cuisine served on the terrace at the foot of the castle and facing the vineyards. Absolute must-do in St Emilion

The setting is magnificent, the rooms are tastefully decorated and the location is ideal. Close to the center of St Emilion, close to the castles. Everything is perfect for a pleasant stay. The hotel restaurant is excellent too

Gourmet getaway made for our mother's 60th birthday and we thank the SPA and restaurant staff for their kindness! The setting is magical and the services top notch!!

Very nice hotel but restaurant (lunch and dinner) disappointing and ordinary compared to the hotel. The service is also average. The SPA and massages are very good, of the same level as the hotel, but we can regret the difficulty in booking as if the Spa were completely independent from the hotel. In short, the hotel is worthy of a 5 star for the setting and the environment but not for the services offered.

We were anxious to experience this hotel's main restaurant. It's within the original building and although any modernisation has been tastefully done, a lot of the best rococo-style features have been retained, including the impressive stained glass windows. It often gets used for corporate events, with displaced individual parties being relocated to a far less impressive adjacent dining room as an alternative. But we were in and we were determined to make the most of it There seemed to be a variety of menu options on offer but we stuck to a la carte and were ready to battle through the three course works; glad we did. Rather shame-facedly, I enjoyed starting with a well balanced foie gras topped with peach jelly. Even better was the main course of perfect venison steak with foamed truffle mash on a bed of red grape jus; quite a perfect dish, and many thanks for elevating mashed potato into something rewarding rather than dull. Mrs EPR was doing equally well and rather pleased that the advertised cold smoked duck breast was actually hot, and cooked exactly as she had requested. We both had komuntu chocolate for dessert mainly because it was, well, chocolate but whilst it was interesting it was rather too dark and oily for our more populist palette. As expected, amuse bouches and hors d'ouvres turned up at the appropriate time, plus a rather more-ish loaf of homemade cornbread which was excellent. There's a vast wine list which can also be found via the hotel website so we did some research beforehand to select our preferred choice, which happily was superb. To be honest, it was a lovely evening throughout; each course of our meal was beautifully presented and well-balanced whilst the young staff were all friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. We were really glad that we made the most of it, and the evening actually exceeded expectations - always a good thing.

Parfait à tout point de vue. L'endroit, le cadre, la salle de restaurant, le salon. C'est sublime. On y est allé pour déjeuner donc c'est tout à fait abordable 42€ entrée plat dessert. En outre , pour l'apéritif on nous a servi de quoi grignoter (ce qui a tendance à se perdre ces derniers temps sous l'argument de l'inflation), idem pour patienter au début du repas, plus le cannelé et le financier avec le café. Leur carte des vins est à la hauteur de l'endroit et sa situation géographique. Service rien à dire, accueil à la hauteur de l'établissement, repas parfait et copieux. Allez y sans hésiter ! En outre comparé aux offres dans St Emillon centre, vous serez certainement bien mieux là pour le rapport qualité prix.
