Hotel Restaurant Pub La Sirene sur Yport

The rooms with sea views are truly lovely; I fell asleep to the sound of the waves. The hotel has a nice atmosphere. You do have to be prepared to climb a very long flight of stairs from the street, and then another flight or two. But the hotel has a lot of charm. The €10 breakfast is ordinary but adequate, with very friendly staff. The restaurant, however, is another story. It has a beautiful sea view, which is nice. But the prices are high for average quality. And above all, in our case, the service was interminable... an hour between the starter and the main courses... an extra glass of wine that finally arrived when we had finished everything... (with a "you're welcome," seemingly to teach me some manners after my failure to say thank you!). It was very annoying, a shame. We obviously decided against having dessert for fear of being stuck there even longer.

We felt at home at La Sirene, and the personalized service was tailored to our needs. It's a pleasant place with pleasant people. Yport is a completely underrated tourist destination, but I can confidently recommend it alongside Étretat.

We've stayed at the Hotel La Sirène several times over the past 10 years. The room service and breakfast are excellent, thanks to the very kind and professional person who runs them. However, the restaurant has changed a lot in recent years. It used to be quite good, but even a few years ago, the quality and quantity of food declined. And this time, even the service wasn't up to par. We arrived at 7:10 PM, were the first in the dining room, our order was taken quickly and pleasantly, then the drinks and the children's menu starter were served, and then nothing... The other tables were served, six tables in total, seating two to three people. We waited patiently until 8:20 PM, still having eaten nothing, and asked if it would be much longer, as we had already been there for over an hour. The owner said no, and that it would arrive soon. No apology, just coldness from both the waiter and the owner until the end of the meal and our stay at the hotel. As for the meal itself, the fish soup was very average, and the plate with herring, salad, and potatoes was mediocre. The desserts were a slight improvement. We won't be back.

After four years, we're back at our hotel and still receive a warm welcome. As always, the seafood platter is of impeccable quality. A fabulous place to relax.
