Hotel-Restaurant:Le Bercail sur Chauffayer

This is what I like about France. This is because there are still traditional restaurants which are unfortunately too often neglected. The exterior is relatively classic for a roadside establishment. But as soon as you walk through the front door, you are transported to a somewhat bygone era. Damage ! Indeed, the furniture, the crockery and the decoration are rather outdated or vintage to use a fashionable term. However, this is what makes one of the charms of this restaurant. The waiter welcomes you with a frank and warm smile. And the service is just as pleasant, but also professional. He does everything he can to meet your every need and make your meal enjoyable. The background music, played muted, makes the atmosphere more relaxing. Being in a relatively hurry, we opted for the quick menu (23€) and an à la carte dish. A real treat. The dishes are delicately prepared and, whether it is the homemade terrine or the fresh salad, the smallest detail is thought out to allow you to delight your pupils before delighting your taste buds. The fresh salad is particularly killer and a true masterpiece. The main dishes are like the starters; hearty and tasty, with elaborate and equally delicious accompaniments (especially the garlic/parsley/cream mushrooms). We chose the beef stew with carrots and the piece of beef with shallot sauce. The potato-leek-salad tourtons are also to be commended. As for the desserts, the crème caramel and the faitselle with red fruit coulis, they are made in the purest tradition. It should be noted that the products used to create the menus are fresh local products. All for a very reasonable price. Congratulations to the cook and server! Needless to say, we recommend this restaurant with our eyes closed. Thank you for this pleasant time spent at “Le Bercail”.

While traveling and passing through the Napoleon route, chosen a little at random: excellent meal, welcome and professional service. Flawless traditional cuisine, tasty caramel creams. A very pleasant moment.

Always great to stop at the Bercail restaurant, where the cuisine is excellent and the service impeccable. Little shout out to the square of dark chocolate given with the coffee ;)

Very good restaurant with a warm welcome! Local dishes with tourtons, ravioli, different regional cheeses, etc. Different menus offered ranging from €23 to €38 and several à la carte dishes as well. The dishes are very good, very generous, the service is impeccable. Don't stop at the front of the restaurant, or the old-fashioned but atypical decor. Provision of a booster seat for a one year old baby. Very happy to have stopped at this restaurant by chance, I can only recommend it if you are looking for something good, local and with good value for money!

This restaurant was recommended to us and we were not disappointed. You don't have to stop at the decor. Very well kept house, very friendly welcome and very pleasant and attentive service. We chose the local menu which is a real delight and plentiful. Everything is homemade with fresh produce...homemade whipped cream too. We will come back

Super acceuil, des bouchees chaudes nous ont été offertes pd que nous prenions connaissance de la carte. Nous avons pris le menu du terroir. TOUT était très bon ! Même copieux, rapport qualité/prix excellent, Adresse à transmettre et à conserver Je recommande vivement

Descente sur Gap pour aller voir une moto, nous sommes revenus sans mais nous n'avions pas oublié notre passage en 2019 dans cet établissement... Du coup arrêt obligatoire pour une bonne petite soirée épicurienne... Cadre toujours aussi sympa, très bon accueil et cuisine toujours très bonne...Bref au bercail on s'y plait... et on y retourne...
