Illia Pasta sur Nice

When visiting European cities, we always try to make the most of the local cuisine and discover the traditional flavors of the region. So, in France, we're sticking to our plan to explore French cuisine 👨‍🍳🍽️🇫🇷, even though our junior occasionally complains that he "could use some sushi" 🍣 😅. Fortunately, Niçoise cuisine (cuisine nissarde) is a unique blend of French and Italian influences, so you can find something to satisfy fans of the ever-popular Italian cuisine 🇮🇹. One evening, we stumbled upon Illia Pasta – a small, unassuming place whose culinary concept revolves around fresh pasta and Mediterranean ingredients. No grand signage, designer interiors, or restaurant hype. It's a place you can easily miss, but definitely worth a visit! The place is small and very simply furnished. We didn't have a reservation, so there wasn't enough room in the main room, but we got a table in a sort of converted vestibule at the entrance to the gate. The stone paving stones underfoot gave the place a slightly raw, street-style feel. It had its own charm! 😊 The service was friendly and efficient. We arrived around 9:00 PM, so some of the menu items had already sold out, but luckily everyone found something they liked. We ordered pasta with seafood 🦐🦑🐙🐟, the classic Bolognese della Mamma, and scallops with porcini mushrooms 🍄‍🟫. All the dishes were fresh, hot, aromatic, and simply delicious. No unnecessary frills, but with good ingredients and flavor that speaks for itself. The portions weren't huge, but they were just right for us. And to top it all off, a delicious tiramisu! Illia Pasta is a prime example of how unassuming places can offer more culinary joy than many establishments with grand ambitions. If you're craving good, fresh pasta in the heart of historic Nice (Vieux-Nice), it's worth a visit. We left satisfied, and so did Junior, and that's quite a recommendation! 🍝🇮🇹

BEST PASTA I have ever tasted!! Served in a small cozy restaurant. We got the special of the day: One pasta with long cooked beef, and a Carbonara Linguine. Had to eat slowly to make the moment last longer. No booking possible in advance, but worth standing in line for a table. The staff was friendly, service minded and hard working! Gave us good advice, and served us a meal I for sure will remember!

Great food, for me the pasta was under cooked but the taste made up for it

We had a wonderful time on the terrace. The pasta was delicious, homemade, and full of flavor. A truly great experience that we highly recommend!

We are a family of four and have been coming to eat here every August since 2018. The pasta is very good and the portions are generous! Special mention goes to the excellent seafood linguine. We thank the manager, with whom we enjoyed chatting, and also the friendly staff.
