Jeu de Quilles sur Cajarc

A restaurant where you'll naturally nod your head with every bite to confirm the flavors of the dishes. It's delicious and creative from appetizer to dessert. A real gem. There were eight of us and everyone loved it. The atmosphere and the welcome were also very warm. Thank you!

On the back of their listing in the Michelin guide I booked the Jeu to Quilles at very short notice and am I glad I did. I can't praise this place enough and as testament to the meal my wife and I spent the whole 25 minutes or more driving back to our gite enthusing about the meal. It was the best we've had for a while and at c. Eu120 (including a good bottle of wine) was exceptional VFM. The standard of cooking was exceptional. The entree of sea bream tartare and lime & coconut granita was unusual but a welcome surprise. Our 'plats' / main of trout and quail were similarly excellent; both full of flavour and well balanced dishes; they were generous portions too. To round off the meal, our deserts of poached peaches and chocolate mousse were really good. Service was excellent. Compared to some of the other Michelin restaurants I've eaten in over the last few years, this place really ought to have a star. I fail to see how some restaurants in the Guide are rated as good and yet when we've tried them Jeu de Qualles is clearly in another league. I can't wait to return. As a bit of post script. We visited early September at the end of the Summer season and it was really atmospheric to leave the restaurant in the dark at 9.30pm and step out into the quaint French village of Cajarc. I can't think of anywhere comparable in the UK.

An excellent restaurant where the quality of the ingredients, their flavors, and their combinations are tasteful. The presentation of the dishes is refined, and the service is impeccable. All this in a charming village worth discovering. I will return to try the evening menu or a new menu.

A wonderful rediscovery with a new cuisine, a new menu, and a fantastic team! Some great discoveries, especially the corn gazpacho and the veal tartare for me. The other diners tried other equally delicious dishes. My only slight reservation is that the desserts were a bit simple compared to the rest of the menu. I highly recommend this restaurant in the beautiful village of Cajarc. I would gladly return, provided the menu changes regularly.

A superb culinary discovery. Fresh, local produce, beautifully presented dishes, and delicious flavors and textures. Attentive and efficient staff. The Michelin Bib Gourmand is well deserved. Go without hesitation and make a reservation.

The menu is well-crafted (and stands out from what other restaurants in the area offer), the food is excellent, and the welcome and service are top-notch. The restaurant of choice in Carjac!
