Hello, The food was excellent, no complaints at all, and the price was unbeatable. However, we were disappointed with the service. No smiles, no greeting, no goodbye. When it came time to pay, they didn't even give us the menu after 30 minutes of waiting, and we had to ask for it ourselves each time; no server ever came to us. Feeling like you're bothering them when you're being polite isn't exactly pleasant.

The food is excellent, simple but tasty daily specials! Just like home cooking, and at very reasonable prices! The setting and decor are very original and charming! The only downside is the cold, unfriendly service! A shame... But overall, the quality/price ratio makes it worth a visit.

Passing through Strasbourg between trains, after 9 months of travel, I rediscovered the festive atmosphere of French terraces in summer! A pleasure to have discovered this place both in terms of atmosphere and cuisine (goat cheese and honey tartine, delicious fig) :)).

Chez Tante Liesel

14/09/2026: We stumbled upon this charming little restaurant by chance, and the many positive reviews convinced us to reserve a table at Tante Liesel. We weren't disappointed. The atmosphere is incredibly cozy, like a traditional living room. The service was very friendly, and the other guests' demeanor showed that the owners put their heart and soul into their work. The food was delicious. We started with onion tart, followed by a small portion of Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle) and the Eisbein (pork knuckle) with beer sauce and fried potatoes. Since this combination didn't include sauerkraut, we ordered it separately—an absolute must! The white wine was perfectly chilled and tasted wonderful, and the digestif afterward was also excellent. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fair. All in all, we highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely return on our next visit to Strasbourg.
