A mixed experience. The welcome was very warm, personalized, and attentive, hence my 4 stars. The food was good, with generous portions, hence the 4 stars. But... there was very little choice, everything started at €20, which I think was too high for the setting; €40 minimum per person. The barbecues weren't Korean-style, the air vents were too low, at face level, and the panchans were uninteresting, bland, and too conventional. The gyozas were delicious, and the owners are Chinese, not Korean.

I've been going to this restaurant for over 25 years. Its quality has never declined. If you want to eat authentic Korean barbecue, this is the place. Beyond the set menus, you can treat yourself with an extra Kobe beef or another Japanese beef of the day.

A place I’ve been coming to often for a long time!
Especially during lunchtime, grilling meat and finishing a bowl of rice at this price makes me feel so full and satisfied haha.
The value for money is amazing.

If you’re looking for real, authentic Korean barbecue, Korean Barbecue 1961 is the place to go.
It’s not fancy, but the food is incredibly tasty and full of authentic Korean flavors.
I’ve been coming here since 1990, and nothing has changed, the food is still just as delicious and satisfying as ever.
However, the service could definitely be warmer, as the staff are not particularly friendly.
One more warning: don’t dress too fancy because the barbecue smell will stay on your clothes, and you’ll probably want to take a shower afterward!
Despite these drawbacks, I absolutely love this place and always come back for the excellent food.
