La Barque Bleue sur Lyon

Very friendly team and incredible sole!

I've had the pleasure of lunching at La Barque Bleue three times now. Twice I've been tempted by a whole roasted John Dory, which is reminiscent of the restaurant's logo, and once by a whole roasted sea bass with thyme. Each time, it was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious! The menu is brilliant (in every sense of the word), the service is quick, efficient, and friendly, as is the owner, who always has a kind word and is very down-to-earth. The atmosphere is intimate, calm, and relaxed, and the clientele is made up of many regulars (which is a sign of quality). There's a good selection of seafood and fish, as well as good wines at very reasonable prices. I recommend the smoked salmon, prepared on a string, to share as an appetizer.

Came across this delightful and excellent seafood restaurant entirely by accident walking around Lyon. We were just after a quick oyster stop, but André, Patricia and Charlotte were such incredible hosts and the rest of the food looked so magnificent we had to come back the next day. A small family run shop, the quality of the food was anything but. Their specialty of whole charcoal grilled fish had plenty of options, are fresh, and cooked tender to perfection! Their oysters were expertly shucked, maintaining plenty of brine and chilled to the perfect temperature. Their atmosphere is full of hustle and bustle, laughter, conversation between friends, and with the owner. After we finished our first visit, we had a wholesome chat with André, though we don’t really speak French and he only spoke a little English, we still managed to muddle our way through and learning about each other’s cultures. We shared a schnapps together and we left feeling like the world had just become a much better place. Merci beaucoup André, Patricia et Charlotte. Always excellent, both in terms of service and the freshness of the dishes. Generous and high-quality, a true fish restaurant in Lyon. Even the starters are excellent, and the desserts are homemade. I highly recommend them!

Great time spent on the blue boat! We ate oysters, shrimp and sea bream to die for, all at a more than fair price. The waitresses were friendly and the owner made us feel like regulars! I recommend if you are a fan of good seafood!

Great fish restaurant! The fish are fresh, cooked simply but with perfectly controlled cooking! The product is respected and we enjoy all its flavor! The welcome is pleasant and the atmosphere friendly. I recommend for fish lovers

It is a small, decent and cozy restaurant in Lyon. We did not make a reservation since it was outside of city center but during the hot season it is better you do it because it has limited space. They did not have shrimps at that moment. It was a shame to be honest but salmon and sea bass were very good. Tramisu and cholocate cake was also recommended.

It was very good, the fish was excellent, fresh and very well cooked. We also liked the decorations in the room.
