Traditional cuisine, excellent at an affordable price. Very professional, family meal for 6 people I will come back everyone was delighted

I knew Chez Carmen when the restaurant was located opposite the old slaughterhouses and I was not disappointed by the quality of the dishes and the service. A wine list with very beautiful houses (well that adds to the bill...so ladies and gentlemen restaurateurs stop these multiplier coefficients which scare away customers), legendary dishes that cannot be found anywhere else (the winegrower's pig's trotter for example).

A Toulouse institution not to be missed, despite certain realities in what is said in other comments. Management and the boss(es) must rectify the situation. The server seems very alone and overwhelmed by too much work alone, I think additional support is needed. Nothing "prout prout", everything is in its own juice, as at the time when it was located opposite the city's old slaughterhouses. Even if a renovation of the toilets and its regular maintenance would be necessary. We don't eat a ton there, although, be careful with certain cuts of meat, even with two people it can be complicated. We come there to eat small French dishes, we are not looking for perfection in presentation, we are looking for worker's cooking, but the prices have increased significantly in a few short years. We're no longer in the workers' canteen of the Toulouse slaughterhouses, that's for sure. The welcome is warm and this has become rare, whether in restaurants, bars, bistros, tea rooms or any other businesses in Toulouse, people are no longer as lively and welcoming, friendly, as in a time not so long ago. Contact with the customer, feeling "at home", being able to laugh cheerfully without shocking anyone, sitting comfortably (yes, that's it), having a good time, that's important. We hope to see the open kitchen one day, it's fashionable and it's very pleasant. Especially if the cooks have temperament and put on a show, as I knew in Paris, with an atypical old couple, without the same type of canteen. One or two downsides, the sort of plastic tarpaulin terrace grafted onto the original entrance, which smells of cold tobacco, and creates an image on arrival, which does not make a strong impression... A little flowering at the entrance or the shrub would give a more welcoming and remarkable touch. Looking forward to it.

Very atmospheric French restaurant, with a good selection of meats.

Quite disappointed with this restaurant which has a reputation that precedes it. I went there a long time ago and I had very good memories of it. Unfortunately the quality is no longer there or at least, it is no longer like before. During our last visit, the meat was not extraordinary, and neither were the accompaniments, whether at the starter or main course level. In my opinion, the bill is a little expensive for this quality. It was neither good nor bad. The atmosphere and service remain warm. This is obviously just my opinion. As I am a fan of good reviews and I don't like to stay on average experiences. So I'm going to come back to get a second opinion and who knows maybe I was wrong! If this is the case I will be sure to modify my comment.
