La Bergerie sur Portel-Des-Corbieres

Just okay. Elaborate French cuisine, but lacking charisma. Dishes that were off-center, lackluster, bland, and lacking in effort... We tried the entire menu: both tasting menus, in their two variations. No dish stood out, rather errors in plate design and preparation: impossible flavors, poorly achieved textures, badly executed techniques... There's a lot of culinary work missing here. Aside from that, an enviable location, a beautiful, spacious, and well-decorated restaurant, good service... And the house wine was spectacular!

A warm and bohemian dining room decor, a professional, friendly, smiling, welcoming, and kind waitress, a new menu for our first night, beautiful and carefully prepared food, ample portions for a set menu, perfectly cooked, and a very friendly chef—truly nothing to complain about, and thank you for the wonderful evening we spent together. A truly wonderful experience at La Bergerie de Lastours. What I particularly enjoyed was the quality of the food and the friendliness of the waiter. The welcome was pleasant, attentive, and professional, making the experience even more enjoyable. The dishes were excellent, generously portioned, and reasonably priced. Chef Sebastian Barrière offers precise cuisine with perfectly balanced flavors and a refined, elegant presentation. Special mention goes to the wine pairing: the Château de Lastours Rosé and Château de Lastours Rouge wines were in perfect harmony with the dishes. There's a real sense of coherence, with a menu designed to complement the estate's wines, which is especially important when the wine list exclusively features the estate's wines. A restaurant we highly recommend.
