Great! It's 1 p.m. and there are still plenty of choices!

A perfect place to have coffee and pastries, and the woman who served us was very friendly.

First morning here in Nantes and I decided to treat myself with some pastry and bread. The employee behind the counter had to be the most patient, kind, and professional person I have met here. I even got to practice my french. Kudos to good customer service - and a tasty croissant!

Had a brilliant goats cheese baguette with rocket, walnuts and fig compote. The chocolate eclair was brilliant too. Lovely lady who served us and helped us through as the bumbling, weary English family! It was very busy so clearly very popular with locals

Come for the food! As others have mentioned, coffee isn’t their strong point.

Excellent bakery and sandwich shop. One of their specialties that I never tire of is the white square 😉

It caters to a busy weekday clientele, not the local neighborhood.

Le Royal Cafe

16/10/2026: It's a shame we can't give more stars. My husband and I have been coming here for nine years, and we're always greeted with a smile and kind words, and the food is always excellent! I wouldn't eat anywhere else for the world!
01/10/2026: Another great experience at Royal Café! We had lunch there with a friend today. The service was impeccable, and we enjoyed a very generous portion for a very reasonable price. The servers always give us a warm welcome, and we'll definitely be back soon.

Le Bistrot De Mr Jules

03/08/2026: Good value for money, generous portions, nice place, friendly service. Highly recommended.
04/07/2026: Damn, I hadn't noted Mr. Jules... My mistake! The best bar, no question about it! A peaceful spot, like the Gauls in their village! And the lunchtime food is sooooo good!
