We arrived at 2:00 PM, the market was closed. The servers gave us a very warm welcome, and we were served quickly. The products looked and were indeed fresh from the market. Four stars because the fries weren't homemade, but that's a very minor point. The place has a real charm; it's a shame we don't have something like this closer to home, as we would eat in our own town more often.

The service was good, but they had the unpleasant detail of not including the fries that everyone else received with their sardines. Also, the prawns were overcooked. The sardines were delicious.

Contrary to what other reviews say, we had a very good experience. The staff were all very friendly and helpful; as soon as they realized we spoke Spanish, they made an effort to speak to us in our language.
Highly recommended for a stroll through the market followed by some sardines. It's usually busy, so you might have to wait, but tables are filled quickly. We enjoyed it!

Despite some mixed reviews, we found the owner and his team very friendly!
The fish soup was amazing and the sardines were very good.
(The Basque cake was average).
I recommend it!!

Mixed experience. The man managing the queue (glasses, probably in his 50s–60s) was unpleasant. We were three, but because one of us stepped away for a couple of minutes, he lett people who arrived later go ahead.
My mother ordered her meat well done, but it arrived extremely rare inside (see image).
The fries were also poor: under-salted, and they had neither ketchup nor mayonnaise, only mustard.

The owner's welcome was terrible.
You can tell he thinks he'll always be busy.
The servers were average.
The beer wasn't cold, and the glass was tiny.
And the food wasn't hot.
In short, not much to say. Moved on to the next place.
