La Calanque sur Mandelieu-La-Napoule

This review is about the hotel and not the restaurant. The hotel changed owners a few years ago (2018). A regular at the hotel from the previous owners (I came 12 times from 2004 to 2015), I was curious and impatient to see the renovated hotel. Lots of positive points: - indeed, the hotel has been tastefully and carefully renovated. It is now a modern hotel with up-to-date rooms. He has regained the two stars ** that the previous owners had lost around 2012 - the new owners are friendly but discreet (perhaps too discreet?) - the rooms are clean and comfortable, and those on the street side have a sea view which is worth the detour - The location of the hotel in La Napoule facing the castle and the beach is ideal, with this view of the bay of Cannes which is worth the detour. I will nevertheless give 4/5 and not 5/5, and here is the main reason: certainly the hotel has been renovated, but the prices have really increased, while the rooms have not changed in size (quite small), still without elevator and without accessibility for people with restricted mobility. In the one we had, there is no desk to sit and write, for example. I think there is a mismatch between the price of the rooms and their size. Some other points that could be improved: - in the breakfast room, the tables are set up facing each other, which means that, when there are two of us, one of the two people turns their back to the view. What a pity ! The previous owners put the places at 90° from each other, so both have a view of the sea - the hotel restaurant was closed in April when we came, even at lunchtime... - in the evening/night, no access to the downstairs living room around the fireplace and no night watchman. You enter from the side of the hotel and are directly on the stairs to the upper floors. It's very impersonal... In conclusion, I think that if I have the opportunity to come back to La Napoule I will come back to La Calanque without hesitation, but for a short stay. I hope the owners continue to improve the hotel and make it even more welcoming.

Top location. The rooms are small but functional. Big downside on the service and the breakfast which is expensive for me for what is in it. No table service buffet too many extras if you want a decent breakfast. Regarding the breakfast service, you ask what is included in it and at the end of the stay you are charged for hot chocolate because it is not included in the breakfast package. No commercial gesture despite having explained to him that the waitress confirmed to us that it was included in the formula. 4€ more on a bill of 1100€ (3 rooms reserved for 3 nights) I think that chocolate could have been offered especially when it is a lack of communication.

My husband and I stumbled across this gorgeous little hotel, which has been beautifully renovated, while still keeping it's unique charm. The family were so helpful, and in English for us. They made great recommendations for our trip. We thoroughly recommend staying here.

Friendly and helpful staff. Location great! Room tidy, only large bed. So it was very tight to sleep with the two of us.

This La Calanque hotel is a great discovery. Ideally located, opposite the castle, a very easy to access family beach, a hundred meters from the port, close to the train station and the pretty restaurants that you want to find during the evenings. The rooms have recently been redone with great taste, all different. The architecture of the building is unique, it has been used to its best advantage and the terrace is very pleasant, protected from the heat by the plane trees. We enjoyed the cheese omelettes that you can order for breakfast. But what made our stay so happy, the icing on the cake, was the welcome of the owners (a young South African couple always smiling) and their employees. A real break and a successful vacation largely thanks to them all. We wish them much success for the future and, for our part, what was only to be a first and last visit to Mandelieu will, we hope, be followed by many others in their establishment.

It was a pleasure to stay at this small family runned hotel. Very friendly staff and so helpful. Great atmosphere and very comfortable well equiped rooms. Will definetely stay here again when we come back to Mandelieu.

Top Lage, Leider hat es kein Kühlschrank/Minibar in den Zimmer. Zimmer Recht klein. Aber Top Service und Bahnhof auch in der Nähe.

Lieu paisible et personnel agréable mais TRÈS MAUVAIS rapport qualité-prix au niveau de la restauration, c'est dommage.
