La Calypso sur Cabourg

A delightful evening! The owner was very friendly and welcoming, the staff were very pleasant and smiling, and the food was excellent! I highly recommend the perfectly cooked lobster and the desserts worthy of a 3-star restaurant! Bravo to the chef!

Near the "In Search of Lost Time" museum (👍), the Calypso restaurant occupies a prime location and charmingly embodies the spirit of Proust's novel. A lovely garden where you can indeed lose track of time while enjoying the well-prepared and high-quality €27 set menu, served with flexible and attentive service. Not recommended for those in a hurry or seeking perfection. Here, a few minor flaws are forgiven, which only adds to its charm.

We were very disappointed with the food today. We had already come last year to enjoy the spa and restaurant, and it was delicious. But this lunchtime, there was a problem with the beef cheek. They offered us a free bottle of wine as compensation, so we appreciated the gesture.

We had lunch on the lovely shaded terrace. The service was adequate. The lunch menu is reasonably priced, but the portions are very small.

Discover it as soon as possible if you haven't already! Friendly owner, quality cuisine. Everything is homemade, right down to the little salted butter cookies served with the coffee. We had lunch in the garden and had a wonderful time. We will definitely return on our next visit to Cabourg.

A lovely spot in Cabourg, with many attractive features. The setting is truly charming: the interior decor is tasteful, and the shaded terrace, nestled amidst lush greenery, offers a particularly pleasant setting for lunch or dinner. As for the cuisine, the bistro-style menu lives up to expectations with delicious and well-executed dishes. Without trying to reinvent the genre, the restaurant offers a very enjoyable experience to share over a good meal. A solid and welcoming option for a gourmet break in the region.

Hello, we had a rather unusual experience at your restaurant. The fact that the waiter dropped the fish in front of us... these things can happen, but the fact that no one came to say a word to us afterward... and when it came time to pay the bill... the fact that you mixed up two bottles of champagne and two glasses... again, beyond the price difference, this raises questions. We understand that the atmosphere that evening was tense, due in particular to your IT problems... There's nothing unpleasant in what we said, but you asked for our opinion, and we're giving it to you. Have a good day.

A lovely little spot, this green oasis is perfect for lunch or dinner! The welcome is warm and friendly! The bistronomic cuisine is inventive and uses fresh, local ingredients! Perhaps a small amuse-bouche to whet the appetite would be a nice addition! A very good overall impression of the food! One small negative point: the lunch menu is displayed on the menu board at the entrance for €27 on weekdays until Saturday lunchtime! To our dismay, we were charged €36 for the menu on Saturday lunchtime! Yet, on Friday the day before, I had reserved a table for Saturday lunchtime, and the person at the reception confirmed that the menu was indeed €27. This error should be corrected! I didn't want to make a fuss at the time, but I should have mentioned it, as it left me feeling frustrated and disappointed! Nevertheless, I maintain my five-star rating!
