A wonderful discovery in the old town of Valence. We went there with a couple of friends. It was very good, the staff were friendly, the food was excellent, and the price was very reasonable.

We were on holiday in the area for New Year's and I was looking for a nice little restaurant for my girlfriend's birthday (January 1st). Despite it being a public holiday, online booking was possible: perfect. Upon arrival, the restaurant doesn't look like much and seems small (about 5 tables), but there's also another room that can accommodate more diners. Our table was reserved, a little in the passageway, but we weren't disturbed. The atmosphere was pleasant, with well-balanced background music: we could hear each other speak without being bothered by neighboring tables. As for the food: a set menu of starter/main course/dessert for €32 per person, excellent value for money. For starters, the Saint-Marcellin soufflé with a nicely composed fresh salad was very good. My girlfriend had the duck breast, which was cooked to perfection and very tender. I had the chicken/ravioli/seafood: very delicate and well-balanced. The desserts were superb: homemade profiteroles (right down to the homemade whipped cream!) and a red berry and nougat ice cream creation. We wanted champagne for the occasion: the owner didn't have any, but offered us a Clairette de Die (jokingly: "better than champagne!"). A slight misstep… especially for people from the Champagne region (Champagne-Ardenne 🍾), but we went along with it and it was a very pleasant surprise. The owner was friendly, approachable, and happy to chat. The waiter was discreet but efficient. A very enjoyable evening; we wholeheartedly recommend it.

The starter was excellent, the main course splendid, the dessert a little less impressive, but overall it was a great success and the quality-to-price ratio was very good: starter, main course, dessert, and wine for 38 euros in one evening is fantastic! Thank you for the wonderful welcome.
