La Cascade sur Moustiers-Sainte-Marie

A fairly large, covered restaurant located in Moustiers-Sainte-Marie (83), a village 7km past the Galetas bridge overlooking Lake Sainte-Croix. The restaurant's setting is very pretty, near the waterfall. You can hear the sound of the flowing water, which adds to its charm. However, there's no decoration or ambiance to give the restaurant any character or something extra, which is a shame. The food is standard. The fries aren't homemade. The aioli is good, the nuggets are homemade, or at least I think so, and they're very tasty. The Caesar salad is generously filled but nothing special in terms of flavor. The children's menu, which includes fries and only two nuggets for €15, is quite expensive, especially since neither syrup nor dessert was included. The waiters seemed tired from the summer season, which is understandable given how busy this small village is, but a little more joie de vivre wouldn't have gone amiss... a pity. However, I thank them for welcoming us late, at 1:50 pm at the end of service 👍🏻

Everything went well with the meal and the service. It's a shame we were asked to leave at 8:30 pm because of another reservation for the bartender's family. I thought the restaurant didn't take reservations in July and August? Someone will have to explain to me why some people get preferential treatment and others don't! Family matters are outside of work; they come second. We're customers, we consume, we pay. So the waiter wasn't very nice, not even an apology. We come once a year on vacation; we know we'll eat well here, and at the same time, we enjoy this beautiful place.

A charming, touristy restaurant with a stunning view of the waterfall. If you're passing through Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, don't hesitate to stop by, BUT be aware that there's often a long queue, so arrive early to avoid a long wait! The food is good! Special mention for the gazpacho, which was truly delicious.

Beautiful setting and good food

The dishes were very good; however, the side dishes were very meager, and unfortunately, the pecan pie for dessert was very hard. I mentioned this to the waiter, but received no response. Regarding their attitude, I find it disappointing to be served by such unpleasant waiters who never once smiled during the entire evening. It's a real shame because it detracts from the otherwise beautiful and pleasant atmosphere of the restaurant.
