We had a wonderful evening at La Cigogne.
The new owners have tastefully renovated the establishment. The cuisine is exquisite and well worth the trip; kudos to the Chef!
Special mention for the orange soufflé flambéed with Grand Marnier—a true delight! :) We'll be back when the weather is warmer to enjoy the terrace!

One small drawback: the owners' dog has no business being in the restaurant! Customers and servers have to step over it to move around!

We had dinner there last night as a family to celebrate a birthday.
The restaurant is secluded, overlooking the Anguienne Valley.
The welcome was pleasant and warm.
The atmosphere is hushed and relaxing; the layout, with several small rooms, seemed to us to be a real plus, as it creates an intimate and cozy feel.
As for the food, everything is perfectly balanced in terms of flavor, texture, and seasoning. It's truly a masterclass in cooking, full of flavor, smokiness, sweetness, and richness. We savored the beautifully presented dishes, taking a little of this with a little of that, creating a unique experience with each bite.
It's exactly the kind of cuisine I love: sophisticated yet unpretentious, generous, and perfectly balanced. The hanger steak with its cauliflower purée and rich jus brought a big smile to my face from the first bite, and the shredded haddock was superb. The dessert was almost "too much," but it was the perfect ending to a wonderful culinary experience.
The two people serving were very pleasant, smiling, and professional.
We came with two children, ages 11 and 7, and the chef offered us a variation from the menu with fries (fresh ☺️) but with the same high-quality meat. They thoroughly enjoyed it.
In short, it's a great place, offering good value for money considering the quality of the food and the generous portions.
We can't wait to come back in the summer.

Today we had lunch here, for the first time with the new owners (who previously owned the Epicurieux in Angoulême).
There's a choice of two starters, two mains and two desserts and the price is €42 for three courses.
The food was beautifully presented and was delicious.
Friendly service which is not rushed.
