La Cochonaille sur Colmar

We visited Le Cochonaille in record-breaking heat of almost 41°C. The chrémant was excellent. The pork platter was unfortunately extremely tough, although very well seasoned. The pork cheeks were simply served on a light vegetable medley; pasta would have been a better choice. But the dish was very tasty nonetheless. The oven-baked stew with three kinds of pork was good, although the meat was a bit dry, and I only found two types in the casserole dish. All the dishes were expertly prepared and seasoned with great care! Thank you for a wonderful evening.

The setting is magnificent, an old building, and the decor and colors perfectly reflect the restaurant's identity. The cuisine is exceptional, very flavorful, and the portions are generous. It's truly top-notch. However, be aware that the young waiter is polite but shy; he should try to smile more, be more outgoing, and talk a bit more. He also needs to be more attentive, as he sometimes forgets requests. Overall, it's a very positive experience. I highly recommend it.

The food was delicious and the service was very friendly. The cheeks were fantastic. Unfortunately, the waiter forgot about dessert, and we had to wait twenty minutes after dinner, without being informed. A big mistake, considering the restaurant was stuffy. I would have given the food five stars, but the stuffiness and the waiter's error make it four stars.

Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow! Passing through Colmar, we ate at La Cochonaille and everything was perfect: a magnificent setting, exquisite cuisine, and attentive staff (Olivier, the owner, was there and told us the fascinating history of Colmar). Highly recommended!
