La Côte de Boeuf sur Bordeaux

Absolutely incredible restaurant!! If I could give it 10 stars, I would without hesitation! A friendly and welcoming place that truly cares about its customers. The servers were lovely and attentive to every request, despite the restaurant being full. We came on Sunday for lunch and, as always, there was no need to eat again in the evening ;) The food was high quality, generous, and affordable. We will definitely be back!

To the young man from Bordeaux who sold us this place as the epitome of culinary bliss: blink twice if you're being held hostage by management. We arrived at precisely 12:05, a table of six, the restaurant before the lunch rush. An ideal setup for hoping to eat there that same day, you might say. Rookie mistake! While our order was taken with the illusion of efficiency, what followed was a fascinating experiment in the relativity of time. Twenty minutes for the appetizers (time to sow and harvest the raw vegetables, no doubt), then another thirty minutes for our main courses. We had ordered rare and medium-rare meats, but I imagine we had to negotiate with the farmer first. Faced with the heartwarming sight of all the other tables served before us, I had to summon my last reserves of energy to organize a search party and check if our order hadn't somehow been sent to another dimension. Then came the highlight of the show: the meat. Of course, there was no follow-up to check if it was cooked to our liking. They really should have, though, as my duck breast had clearly sought refuge in a crematorium oven. Special mention goes to the waiter who, faced with the disaster at the end of the meal, offered us this theory worthy of a Nobel Prize in Thermodynamics: "You should have told me, I'll give it back to you in two minutes when it's like that!" Sure! Everyone knows that recooking an overcooked duck breast actually brings it back to life. A level of professionalism as utterly useless as the duck itself. This same waiter, who apparently mistook Fashion Week for a restaurant, sporting a ripped hem in his jeans at eye level, was particularly arousing when taking our order… As for dessert, my "cheese plate" materialized as six measly tiny cubes of Comté cheese. I'm still undecided: was I being punished for my impatience, or had the accounting department launched a drastic austerity plan to balance the books at the end of the year? A quick word about another waiter, otherwise very friendly, but who seemed to be fueled by white flour. His rapid-fire speech would make an auctioneer blush: four questions a second, without ever bothering to ask our answers. Paradoxically, what did manage to land on our plates was good. But if I want to enjoy a truly excellent meal while witnessing a space-time anomaly sprinkled with absurdity, next time I'd rather have a picnic in the prefecture's waiting room. Working in the restaurant industry myself, I believe that the servers' presentation, attitude, and quality of service are paramount, even before the service itself. And unfortunately, I didn't find those hallmarks that are so important to me.

Great experience, very good meal

We arrived at 7 pm for two people and were immediately taken care of. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food. Our dishes arrived quickly, there was no wait at all, and the servers were excellent. We'll definitely be back! Thank you so much!

Excellent! The service was impeccable. Our waiter, Fabien, was kind, funny, and very sociable. He gave good advice and was quick with the service, with very little waiting between courses. The mozzarella was excellent, perfectly fresh and melted. The meats were incredible, and the homemade fries weren't greasy or too salty. The dishes were excellent and very generous. In my opinion, this restaurant is a must-try, especially if you're not from the area or if you want a very good meal and a relatively quick experience (though it might be different if you come on a busy weekend)!

We had a fantastic time. The meat was delicious and cooked to perfection. The service was excellent, the setting was authentic, thank you to the whole team!

Original decor. The welcome was very warm, and the atmosphere was very dim in the evening. The perfectly grilled and marbled bone marrow was a real treat, even if it was quite fatty. The 1.1 kg Salers rib steak was of very good quality and perfectly cooked; it was just a shame it wasn't charred enough on the outside. Three sauces were served, and fries, sauces, and salad were unlimited. The red wine by the glass, however, was not very good. A restaurant for meat lovers.

A great place for meat lovers! I went with my partner for my birthday. There was a wide selection of meat and wine, and the service was excellent. We'll be back.
