We had already visited the establishment last year and had struck up a friendship with the owners. A lovely atmosphere and a mix of styles reflected in the menu, featuring African, Auvergnat, and Breton dishes. As a kind gesture, they offered us drinks in 2025. This time we returned for lunch. The truffade is renowned, and despite the heatwave, we decided to give it a try. It wasn't a mistake! What a delight. One of the best I've ever had. The seasoning was perfect, generous with potatoes and local cheeses, accompanied by a beautiful plate of greens and regional cheeses and charcuterie. The hiker's salad is equally impressive, with consistently high-quality, local ingredients. If you're ever in the area, don't miss out. You won't forget it!

We stayed in Saint Floret for a week. The cuisine at "La Couze Pavin" restaurant is a fusion of three cultures... Senegal, the Auvergne region of France, and Brittany! 😅 The chicken yassa is a delight, the truffade is excellent, and the meat is top quality! The service is provided by the family's older children. They are very helpful, pleasant, and always smiling. The atmosphere is very friendly. You see locals enjoying a beer at the end of their workday, older folks having lunch, and tourist families like us enjoying a delicious meal. I rarely take the time to leave a comment on Google or a negative review for future customers, but frankly, it's worth highlighting this family-run restaurant with its flavorful cuisine, very humble and pleasant service, and beautiful setting on the banks of the Couze Pavin river. Highly recommended!

As always, it's the restaurants chosen on a whim that create the best memories. This one is no exception. We'll definitely be back next time we're in the area!
