La Duchesse D'arc sur Vallon-Pont-D'Arc

People are quick to criticize and not very forgiving. Keep in mind that this is one of the only businesses open all year round, even in winter when everything is deserted! And it's open from very early in the morning until late at night.

Passing through town, with most (if not all) of the shops closed, we headed to this bakery with its pretty storefront. A warm welcome and advice on pastries and places to visit in the area. Gourmet and generously filled sandwiches. We especially loved the frangipane and chestnut cream pastry! I'm surprised by the negative reviews, especially since a quick glance at the window reveals that everything is very likely homemade...

We just spent three days in Vallon-Pont-d'Arc and needed pastries and other items for a cocktail party (pizzas, quiches, tarts, etc.). The result was truly satisfying, with both quality and quantity! We thank the owner of this establishment who, in addition to her friendliness, ensured our complete satisfaction with all the products purchased from this bakery and pastry shop. Vallon has regained its calm from the off-season...it's very pleasant. We stopped at La Duchesse to stock up on supplies before our hike, quite reluctant given the reviews and well, not at all disappointed, very friendly welcome with a little accent...fresh and good sandwiches and excellent tarts...

Update 09/2025 We returned to this region just because of this bakery. It was a real treat again! This shop deserves more stars than it displays. This shop is simply wonderful; everything is fresh and has a wonderful aroma. You can really tell that a lot of love is put into the baking here! The lady at the checkout was very friendly. We'd love to come back. Thank you very much.
