La Forge sur Bedarieux

Very nice room, good service, and above all very good meal, Price in relation to the base

Excellent restaurant in the heart of Bedarieux. When we entered an open fire spread warmth and the smell of a fire place throughout the restaurant. We had the menu "La Forge" together with two wines. A foam surrounded by a mushroom cream was lightweight and full of flavour. It has been served with crutons and bacon on top, which enriched the creamy texture with some crispiness. However the bacon raised the salt level to the max. A bit less bacon would have been appreciated. The Casserole was well-balanced with a perfectly cooked fish. Highlight here have been the brussels sprouts, which added some sweetness and bitterness and rounded the dish up. The steak for the kids was medium rare, but still pretty dry. The pasta had just a bit of seasoning, but the kids liked it. The chocolate mousse was too playful. It has been enriched with several elements, but until the last third of the dish, it did not feel like a chocolate mousse at all. Strawberry elements dominated the experience. The mousse itself was lightweight, maybe a bit too light. After a foam and mushroom cream in the beginning, a rich mousse would have felt more complementary. The mango ice cream was fruity and intense. The caramel one was very salty, a little too much for a dessert. We also found a hair in the ice cream. Alongside the dish we ordered a Chateau Coujan. This red was too young to be served and should wait for another 3-4 years in the bottle. The staff has been super kind. They are a true gem for the whole experience. The table shaked a little, which disturbed after a while. Adding vegetarian options would be appreciated as well. The menu (without wine) was 20€ per person only, which is incredibly cheap for this high standard of service and food. Overall it feels like La Forge wants to be super ambitious. It is a great restaurants that just needs to refine some details to really shine.

A very beautiful room. Great service, everyone listens. We had 2 different menus. And the boss had the delicate attention of presenting me with a nice appetizer to accompany Mr. who had 2 starters. I was also entitled to a scoop of ice cream with gin at no extra cost. We had a great time. Fireplace and very nice boss. Go there, very good quality and reasonable price ratio. Quality cuisine and products.

Mixed opinions. Serious and professional manager, very smiling, allowing apprentices from the hotel school to practice the profession. Beautiful room, appreciable fireplace in this weather, rare these days are establishments that heat. The room is atypical which gives it a charm and at the same time there is quickly a hubbub with the reverberation of voices and echoes. Service exceeded by today's reservations, due to Grandmother's Day. The food is generally good. Prices are reasonable. Young people are learning, it is not easy to express an opinion against them but it is necessary I think. Taking the order in a mess, the menus were handed to us, we were offered an aperitif, we took the time to consult the menu. An appetizer arrived without us ordering the drinks which took time to be ordered and served. Waiter came with the empty glass without the whiskey. All that was caught up but didn't let me enjoy the moment peacefully. I booked for my birthday. I was disappointed that no attention was paid to the dessert. I had specified not to be close to any source of feeling cold, entrance door and draft, we were placed next to the window, I felt the cold fortunately there was the fireplace in good condition Operating. The last and most delicate point, olfactory inconveniences from two waiters with a very strong smell of perspiration during service. We can understand that in times of rush, it is human to sweat but to smell our odors when we are cleared and when we are served, in my opinion there is a forgetting of air freshener... Bottom line, my friend enjoyed it, I couldn't appreciate it as much as him. I made this choice despite the kilometers to come and eat at your establishment, I came away disappointed with my choice.
