Hidden in the Aude Valley, this castle perched on a rock proudly overlooks the river flowing past its feet. Currently undergoing renovation, the lower section houses a museum to explore. A bonus: the game box, hosted by the site's staff, adds a touch of appeal for the whole family. I highly recommend it.
A friendly visit with enthusiasts to welcome us and tell us the history of the castle and the Cathars. I highly recommend this castle, which deserves to be known and visited. Take a moment to imagine what this castle was like and how people might have lived there. Despite the storm, we had a great time as a family.
One of the most interesting castles in the region. A clever restoration, combining original stone with steel walkways and staircases that blend perfectly, and the heritage house reconstructing living spaces from the last century. A slideshow of old photos of life in the surrounding villages. Access is very simple.
We visited a bunch of Cathar castles, and the Château d'Usson undoubtedly wins the prize for the Cathar castle with the best value for money!!!
Surprising in some respects, boasting a 360° view, a lovely little museum, an original slideshow... and all this at a reasonable price, unlike the vast majority of other castles in the region!!!
Congratulations to the manager for this exemplary pricing and for everything that has been done to make the visit even more attractive.
