Honestly, La Goul'beun Aise is the kind of place you go to once… and you'll definitely be back. The food is fantastic, the dishes are prepared with care, and it smells like home cooking made with passion, not something hastily reheated. The portions are generous, beautifully presented, and above all, truly delicious. You can tell the chef knows their stuff. The prices are more than reasonable for the quality served; it's refreshing to find a restaurant that doesn't break the bank while still delivering such a great meal. And the welcome… so warm and friendly. They chat with you, smile at you, and make you feel right at home. You feel like you're at a friend's house—a simple, friendly, relaxed, and easygoing atmosphere. In short, a restaurant where you eat well, have a great time, and want to return. A truly great local spot.

Eight years ago, I was an international student setting foot in La Rochelle for the first time when something unexpected happened—I couldn’t reach my housemate or the landlord. My friend and I were left outside on the street in the freezing night. By chance, some kind strangers brought us to this restaurant to rest. They offered us a plate of food and even invited us to join a birthday celebration. That moment has stayed deeply in my heart. I am truly grateful for the warm and friendly people who helped us; thanks to them, I was able to contact my housemate and finally enter the house that night. For the past eight years, ever since I returned to my home country, I have always remembered that moment and wanted to express my gratitude, but I never knew how. Today, as I found myself thinking about La Rochelle again and happened to see this restaurant on Google Maps, I felt incredibly grateful for the opportunity to thank my benefactors once more. I sincerely wish you all good health and peace. My heartfelt thanks to you!

Formerly a "truck stop", a great popular restaurant with entertainment twice a week. Inexpensive, simple, and welcoming.

I fell into this little bar restaurant, very good, very friendly, perfect welcome, nothing to say, I recommend it 👌 I just had a drink and a wonderful welcome.

So good. It's surprising. From the street you can't see anything, but when you walk in it's a little bliss. Eating in a courtyard filled with plants and trees enveloped in the chirping of birds 🐦. The food is excellent value for money. A very warm, family welcome, and the cherry on top is a small adjoining room where you can play darts 😍. Go there with your eyes closed. Thanks to my flamboyant Audrey for bringing me here ☀️
