A real brasserie, clean, friendly staff, and a great brasserie menu! FANTASTIC! I don't live in Agen, but I wish we had a brasserie like this in town!

We had lunch at La Grande Brasserie ahead of our train to Paris. The service was impeccable - we had the most pleasant young person serve us, she was very warm, welcoming and polite. We were also greeted by another member of staff, perhaps the head waiter, who was also very welcoming. The food was good, my companion had a greek salad followed by the plat du jour of steak frites. It was a generous portion and cooked perfectly. I ordered the fish and chips and while it was really nice, not the best I've had. I think the fish was frozen, but it was still a nicely presented and tasty plate of food. I would thoroughly recommend this brasserie to anyone, it's so much better than a train station restaurant in the UK, that's for sure!

One Sunday evening, we chose this brasserie for a meal with friends. Unfortunately, the welcome wasn't pleasant; we felt like we were intruding. We wanted some peace and quiet, but we were seated in the middle of a group with a dog. The meal was mediocre; the chicken skewers were overcooked and barely edible. The portion of fries was ridiculously small, and the Belgian coffee came with completely melted ice cream. To top it all off, halfway through the meal, chairs were placed on the tables next to us, and the vacuum cleaner was lying in the corner, ready to be turned on. Clearly, we were bothering them!

Whilst the overall experience was a good one, especially the service which was very friendly, the thing that detracted from this was the appauling state of the toilets. Dreadful! Broken flush mechanism, urine on the floor, no soap. If the chefs use these toilets as well then I hope they have separate washing facilities.

We've eaten here a few times, waiting for the train back to Paris. The food and staff are fine, prices reasonable, the service inevitably varies somewhat when things get busy. We missed out on dessert this time, as our wait staff disappeared (on break?), but overall fine.

A very, very good meal from starter to dessert. Excellent, welcoming welcome. Magnificent setting, especially the lighting. Highly recommended. Train station restaurant. Travelers, look no further; it's right here, with a beautiful terrace for sunny days. October 8, 2025

14/01/2026: A truly amazing discovery! We travel extensively, and it's such a pleasant surprise to find a lovely tea shop where you can sit back, relax, and enjoy a delicious cup of tea. The tea is served in a large teapot, creating the feeling of a family tea party. The water and tea are both excellent. 😊👍🏼 I also want to mention the delicious ice cream; they have wonderfully creamy flavors and a sorbet-like red fruit ice cream. There's also a good selection of tea sets and cups, and even a milk jug. The atmosphere is welcoming for both visitors and tea lovers. As we understand it, it's a family-run café. The women were incredibly kind and attentive; we didn't have to wait and were served promptly. We also tried some salmon sandwiches. I highly recommend visiting and trying everything. Enjoy your meal to all visitors of this charming place! Thank you so much for your hard work and hospitality.
