La Grillade sur Castres

This Friday we were passing through Castres. There weren't many restaurant options, so we stumbled upon this one by chance, and we highly recommend it. The meat was excellent, the vegetables delicious, and the wine pairing was spot on. The young and very professional team made sure everything ran smoothly. Honestly, well done! Happy New Year 2026

Vegetarians beware! They only serve high-quality, even exceptional, meat. The side vegetables are very good, and the charcuterie is excellent. It's a shame they wouldn't change my ice cream flavor for dessert!

I was looking for a restaurant to eat very good meat. I was not disappointed. Rare piece of meat with vegetables and little new potatoes + a small glass of red wine. A treat and the owner and the waiters very friendly. I arrived 30 minutes before closing time and they accepted me without any problem. I recommend.

Very good We had the meat platter, which was good, except for the lamb chops, which were not great.

Duo menu €50: the server came back 5 minutes after ordering to tell us that it was a menu for two but at €50 per person (so €100 for 2). Supposedly 1.2 kg of beef: so yes, it was plentiful, but I doubt there was that much because we finished it all. Afterwards, there's no complaints about the quality, but I'm still disappointed by the quantity compared to the price: €35 per person is what it was worth to me. And unfortunately, we were on the terrace with a table that was leaning, so I asked for paper towels to prevent the juices from the board from dripping onto my clothes. So I won't go again because it's too expensive.

Overall, it's not too bad. The staff is very pleasant, but the prices... well, not so much. I can't really complain about the cooking, which is why I didn't. So, you still have to be sure that your food is cooked to the customer's specifications, and if it isn't... it's not the end of the world. But yes, the price is a bit high for the dish, especially the duck breast.
