La Joyeuse Fondue sur Saint-Martin-De-Belleville

The perfect ending to our family trip! The four of us had an amazing dinner on our last night. Delicious food, great atmosphere, and staff went above and beyond. Thank you to the whole team for making it so special!

We came to this rather unique restaurant, decorated as it was. I felt like I was in a family vacation home that hadn't changed in decades, and that's precisely what makes this restaurant so charming. That evening (March 13, 2026), we ordered the traditional fondue, which, I think, was certainly the best of all the fondues we've had, if not in the top three. The cheese soaked up the bread perfectly, melted beautifully, and we were even offered a small extra portion because it was so delicious. What's more, the staff who served us that evening were very friendly, helpful, and kind. Thank you again; it was a pleasure. One small drawback, which isn't the fault of the restaurant or the staff, is that Val Thorens is very touristy and attracts a lot of young English people who are quite noisy when they talk. The restaurant must have been at least half full, making it difficult to have a conversation, but at least it keeps the local businesses going. Best of luck to you.

We enjoyed the delicious stone grill here during our holiday. Great atmosphere, friendly service, and a wide selection of dishes. We will definitely be back again.

Absolutely fantastic! We came as a group of three for raclette and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great team (thanks Laurie and Sofia!), superb cheese. The presentation of the dishes was perfect. Highly recommended restaurant! +++ The 3 Normans ;)

Lovely, intimate place with a calm and relaxed atmosphere. Delicious food, made with the heart and fresh ingredients. Incredibly friendly and attentive staff. We had two small children with us (1 and 2 years old), and there was room and heart for them. The price corresponds to the quality and the wonderful experience. Would definitely recommend a visit to Chez Augustine⭐️

Super cozy and such good food!!! Recommend to reserve before going down as it gets full quickly. The staff is extremely welcoming and professional too. They were very kind to us and accommodating to the young child in our party. Was abit hectic and couldn’t catch everyone’s name but I recall a Laurie helping us with desserts, she was wonderful! Now onto the food, the tartifellette (?) was extremely good. The flank steak was also really good. Have gone twice this trip and would go again
