A good experience at this restaurant located in a tiny village not far from Fondfroide Abbey. The chef is, in fact, the former cook of the abbey's restaurant.
The cuisine is creative and well-executed, but there are a few drawbacks: the portions are really small, especially the side dish with the main course, which is a shame because you end up eating the bread... which is mass-produced (why serve bread that looks like it belongs in a motorway service station cafeteria?). I think the €21 set menu (starter/main/dessert) during the week offers much better value for money.
Excellent food and reasonably priced wines. Friendly service. The restaurant isn't very large and all the tables were occupied. Consequently, it was quite lively and noisy.
We discovered La Luciole for a birthday celebration, and the experience was a resounding success.
From the moment you step inside, the restaurant captivates with its warm atmosphere: a bright dining room, tasteful décor blending light wood and warm tones, and a table layout that promotes both comfort and intimacy.
As for the cuisine, the standards are clearly high. The dishes are meticulously crafted, both in presentation and in the balance of flavors.
The dishes themselves confirm this high standard: the fish was cooked to perfection, the textures varied, and the sauces were elegant and perfectly balanced.
In short, a complete experience: a pleasant setting, refined cuisine, and efficient service. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion or simply to treat yourself.
A restaurant as charming as it was delicious. The strawberry and whipped cream dessert had a delightful touch of originality. Thank you for the extra portion of whipped cream to accompany the coffee...
I went back to eat at La Luciole. The restaurant has been taken over by Chef Yohan Renard, formerly of La Table de Fontfroide. It was an excellent meal! The restaurant has had a makeover and it deserved it. The service is top-notch, with a smiling and attentive waitress, and the food is simply divine! A real treat! I'll definitely be back!
