La Maison Syrienne sur Grenoble

Very good bakery and pastry shop, friendly welcome and good service

Excellent bakery. Very pleasant staff.

I came to share my experience with the saleswoman. I arrived at the bakery and looked at the saleswoman, who was tidying up the display case. I waited a little while, but still no greeting, or even that she seemed to realize I was there. I made it clear with a simple "hello" that I was waiting. That alone is not very professional. Then I looked at the cookies/shortbread and asked her if the cookies were soft inside. She replied, "It's a shortbread." Okay, so it's not a cookie then... Then she said, "Cookie and shortbread are the same thing." No, to me, a cookie and a shortbread aren't the same thing because a shortbread is dry and therefore not soft inside. Then, right after, she told me it was soft inside because it was a cookie. ????? A cookie can be soft or crispy. In short, I bought this cookie but I haven't tasted it yet; we'll see if it's soft or hard. Just wanted to say that the saleswoman was awful.
