La Margelle sur L'Isle-D'Espagnac

A small restaurant just the way we like them. The welcome is warm, professional, and friendly; they take the time to discuss the dishes (delicious and beautifully presented). Special mention goes to the sweetbreads with Grandma's sauce—a real treat, so good you'll want to mop up every last drop. It's simple, unpretentious, and excellent value for money—isn't that what you want in a traditional French restaurant?

The sweetbreads (at a rather high price) in a smoky sauce are served with chopped new potatoes... It's unappetizing and frankly not very good... It's heavy... At over €50 per person, you can find much better elsewhere.

The owners gave us a warm and friendly welcome. The food was plentiful and delicious, traditional fare from appetizer to dessert. The service was friendly.

I came to eat with a group of eight friends in the veranda of this restaurant. The entire restaurant is air-conditioned, a real bonus during this sweltering summer. The staff was very charming and accommodating (they even offered us a vegetarian option as the daily special!). We were even visited by the chef after we complimented him on his skate wing and summer egg, which I highly recommend! As for the waitress, her wine suggestions were excellent. I recommend this establishment; the welcome is very warm and the food is delicious! In any case, we were delighted and we look forward to booking another table! Until next time!

A pleasant lunch, but I found this restaurant cold and unwelcoming, which is a shame. The two waitresses were quite pleasant but lacked friendliness. The food was good, but for the rather high price, it wasn't worth it. The starter was duck foie gras, simply placed on the plate. The duck breast was, let's say, a slice. For an aperitif, there was no accompaniment, just a small glass of vegetable cream... and for dessert, a slice of brioche, French toast-style, which was rather uninteresting... Well, we've had the experience, but we won't be back... it's mainly this lack of warmth and conviviality. A pity. I don't mind spending a considerable sum, almost 180 euros, but it has to be worth it... which isn't the case here.
