La Marmite Berbere sur Chatellerault

Simply the best cuckoo clock you could find. The truth! A delight, generous and very very very good and accessible. In addition, the lady who manages the establishment is very friendly! I recommend it!! A treat .

We ate three people 1 royal couscous and one sheep couscous 🐑 merguez and the third feta merguez. All three of us agree, very warm and friendly welcome, the couscous was excellent and plentiful, the bill was reasonable with the aperitif, drinks and desserts, thanks to the Marmite Berbère team.

A warm welcome with a choice of dishes, each excellent as the next. An essential address in Chatellerault. I recommend it to you with great pleasure. You can't miss this restaurant because it really deserves 5* for me

In case anybody is driving along the A10 and wondering where to stop for lunch like we were, look no further than this adorable spot. There is not much to do or see in Châtellerault, but you can have a nice post-meal promenade along the pretty river. Now, to the restaurant: we don’t eat meat and it’s true that most of the menu is not vegetarian, but our gracious host gave us two delicious dishes with couscous. It was very good and was just what we needed. But what made our visit very special was the hospitality. We arrived with our fussy 3-month old baby who needed to be fed. Our host saw that we were tired and hungry and offered to hold and feed our baby while we ate! We were so surprised and happy. Thank you!

To be honest, the food is very good, but frankly the welcome needs to be reviewed. Sending us out to graze on a Saturday lunchtime, when the restaurant is almost empty, and telling us “it’s full” is the height of it.

Plats délicieux et copieux, accueil sympathique, c'est vraiment une bonne adresse à Châtellerault qui en compte malheureusement si peu. Attention, les plats sont vraiment faits pour les bons appétits, faites l'impasse sur l'entrée si vous comptez prendre un couscous ou un tajine en plat !
