Tiny but cozy place. Gorgeous food, superb hospitality. The kitchen is open to the tables. Fresh, authentic ingredients and original dishes. Absolutely affordable. What more could you ask for?

We had a lovely last meal here with a group of friends before some left home after a great week of skiing! Recommended by our friend Kit back in Jersey! We were so glad we managed to get a table. Everyone loved every dish and it felt so cosy and lovely staff. We might be back again this week if we can!

La Marotte deserves every single star. Set in a charming old house in a picturesque village, dining here feels like being welcomed into someone’s home. The cosy dining room sits beside an open fireplace and kitchen, creating a warm, intimate atmosphere, with an additional dining space upstairs reached by wooden stairs. Jack, the owner, shows his attention to detail, from the handwritten menus to the locally sourced produce and the varied, beautifully executed dishes (vegetarian options available). The staff are friendly, warm, and genuine. Be sure to phone ahead to make a reservation, it’s well worth it.

A place that's definitely worth the detour, with warm and delicious cuisine, everything is homemade—you can see and taste it. From the appetizer to the dessert, including the service, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! I highly recommend having dinner at La Marotte. :)

IMPECCABLE 👌! Impeccable welcome and service, the owner explains all his dishes 💪 We tasted chicken liver terrine, free-range chicken with lemon and tarragon, Senegalese mafe, apple crumble, and chocolate fondant... perfect! All accompanied by a delicious Mediterranean rosé! We'll be back and we'll recommend it. Bravo to this young team!

A warm and intimate restaurant. You can tell everything is homemade, which is becoming increasingly rare these days. The products are fresh and, whenever possible, local. The staff is friendly, polite, and very pleasant—a real plus! This was our first time at La Marotte, and it was a wonderful discovery. See you soon on our next visit to Serre-Chevalier!
