We arrived this Saturday, September 13th, without knowing the restaurant, and what a surprise! The staff welcomed us warmly, with smiles and humor. The portions are generous without being overwhelming, whether it's the fried food or the frogs' salad. We were served quickly and the food was very good! We will definitely be back!

Many visits to La Matelote allow us to give this 5-star review 🌟 we loooove it. The welcome is friendly, smiling, pleasant, the food is very good (frogs +++) we are always delighted to go there. I highly recommend this restaurant which will amaze your taste buds. Céline and Sébastien

09/07/2025: This is the best restaurant in Belleville. In fact I don't think I have ever visited a better one anywhere. Yes, there are more sophisticated, more expensive, more polished places here. But nothing this good. The food is simple, honest, wonderfully cooked, and very reasonably priced. The team, front and back of house, are friendly and welcoming. The clientele is principally local, and loyal.
28/06/2025: Delicious and varied home-cooked meals at reasonable prices, in a cheerful and friendly atmosphere.
