La Mie de Pain sur Bruguieres

I went to the bakery yesterday around 1 p.m. The bakery was empty, and I was served by a young woman who, unfortunately, was particularly unpleasant. I wanted to order a salad. I immediately got the feeling that my request bothered her: no smile, no explanation about the salad ingredients, even though there were no labels to describe them. I wasn't even asked which dressing I wanted; one was simply imposed on me. In the end, I was given no fewer than 15 napkins, without a word or a smile, and then I left. I find this truly regrettable. When you work in sales and customer service, politeness, a warm welcome, and a minimum of courtesy seem to me to be fundamental. I can certainly understand that a day can be difficult, but that doesn't justify making a customer feel like they're bothering you. A very disappointing experience, especially for a bakery where one expects a pleasant and warm welcome.

€5.60 for a ham croissant… that’s frankly excessive. At that price, you’d expect a high-end product from a luxury artisan bakery. Here, we’re talking about a bakery chain, after all. When you know roughly the cost of the raw materials for a ham and cheese croissant, it’s hard to understand what justifies a selling price of €5.60 each. I completely understand that overhead, wages, and raw material costs have increased, and that a business needs to make a profit. But there’s still a limit: €5.60 for a ham croissant—the product-to-price ratio seems truly disproportionate to me.

This industrial bakery, "La Mie de Pain," is part of a chain. Located near a highway tollbooth and an industrial park, it's extremely well situated. There's a lot of foot traffic, both business and personal. The service is good, and the products are excellent. The variety of breads, pastries, and prepared dishes, available for takeout or to eat in, are well-made and of high quality. The establishment is clean. You can comfortably enjoy the dining area, have a coffee, croissant, or other treat, as well as the covered terrace. Worth a visit! 👍

Quite simply the best bread in the area and the region. What am I saying, in the whole country.
